One of Germany's most popular indie, pop and rock festivals, the Taubertal, will once again take place at the beginning of August 2025. As usual, around 15,000 visitors per day are expected again this year. It remains exciting to see who will be on the 2025 Taubertal line-up. In 2024, Rise Against, Alligatoah, Deichkind, the Beatsteaks, Nina Chuba and Giant Rooks were among those on stage.

The origins of the Taubertal Festival lie in the Protestant youth. The chairman at the time, Volker Hirsch, wanted something more unusual than a typical country youth festival with folk music and cover songs and invited the Spider Murphy Gang, who wrote the well-known hit “Skandal im Sperrbezirk”. It was a success: in 1996, the festival had to move to its current location. After Bavarian television also broadcast a report on the Taubertal Festival, the number of visitors increased along with its popularity. In 1998, the Taubertal was sold out for the first time.
The festival site of the Taubertal Open Air is surrounded by an incredible backdrop. On the Rothenburg ice meadow, looking towards the main stage, there is a steep slope on the left-hand side and the water of the Tauber river borders the site on the right. Every year, the Taubertal Festival also hosts the final of the “Emergenza” international young talent competition. The regular bands alternate with the up-and-coming artists on a second stage. The winners of the competition then have the opportunity to perform on the main stage.
