As co-founder of the pop and soul group Söhne Mannheims, Xavier Naidoo has been successful since 1995. Xavier Naidoo launched his solo career in 1998 with his debut album Nicht von dieser Welt. The record reached number 1 in the German charts and sold more than a million copies. With a few exceptions, every album released to date (as of 2025) has built on this success. His eighth studio album, Hin und Weg, was released in 2019. His most popular tracks include Dieser Weg, Was wir alleine nicht schaffen and Alles kann besser werden.
In his songs, the Mannheim native often addresses his ideas about Christianity, apocalyptic scenarios, criticism of society, but also ‘classic’ themes of love and relationships. Not only some of his lyrics, but also his public political statements have been controversially discussed, as they have been classified as right-wing populist, racist, and anti-Semitic.
During the coronavirus pandemic, the musician came under media scrutiny as a representative of the Querdenker movement. In 2022, Xavier Naidoo distanced himself from past statements and apologized.
In addition to his musical career, Xavier Naidoo occasionally works as an actor, audiobook narrator, TV presenter, and judge.
